: Delaney Lakes - As of 2/26/2021, Lake John Resort reports, roads are open, but somewhat snowpack. Ice is currently around 21 inches or more. As of last week there was nearly 12 inches of snow on top of the ice. Mainly cutbows and rainbows are being caught on waxworms, mealworms, tube jigs, ice dynamic lures, atomic teasers, and earthworm. North Delaney is fishing steady for browns, cutbows and rainbows 12 to 18 inches. South Delaney has seen steady action with cutbows, rainbow, and cutthroat, all mostly catch and release. East Delaney has seen little to no action. Cowdrey Lake- We continue to receive poor feedback. Only one (barely) legal sized fish was caught for the 2021 Ice Fishing Tournament at 16 inches. Roads are open and clear. Fishing depth seems to best at a range between 4-10 feet of water. Current ice thickness is between 17 to 20 inches thick. Big Creek Lakes, Lake activity has been steady based on the 5 reports received by this author. Splake, Rainbows, and Cutbows are being reported as most caught, ranging between 10 and 25 inches. One Tiger Musky reported. Sucker meat, waxworms and Atomic Teasers seem to be the ticket for large Rainbows and Tiger Muskies. Dynamic Lures (Ice) are doing very well right now too in the glow (translucent), red dragon and rainbow colors. Reported by: Colorado D.O.W |

Expect to find smaller rainbows and browns at East Delaney (65 ac.), rainbows and snake river cutthroats in the 14-16 range at South Delaney (150 ac.) and larger browns that tend to be a bit more difficult to catch at North Delaney (165 ac.) Directions: From Walden, go 1/2 mile west on Highway 14 to County Road 12, then go 5.3 miles west to County Road 18. Go 4.5 miles west on County Road 18 to County Road 5, then 1/2 mile north to property.
